After completing my bachelor's degree I was introduced to the Fundamentals of Reggio Emilia and I fell in love with the philosophy. I love the idea of children being the leaders of their education. This aspect of early childhood education motivated me to pursue my masters degree at Pacific Oaks College, which led me to conduct my thesis on Reggio Emilia's philosophy. From my personal study I concluded that Reggio Emilia is the best early childhood education for children. I am thrilled to be part of The Willows team and continue to provide high-quality education to the children and families. During my free time, I love working out, spending time with friends and family or exploring new restaurants.

I am very excited to be working at the Willow Nursery School.
I've been teaching in a preschool setting for 11 years.
My experience is with the Reggio Emilia approach in a play-based environment. As a teacher, I've been a researcher, a seeker of wonder and an advocate of uninterrupted play for children. I have a passion to use nature as a stage for learning and growth.
My husband and I enjoy hiking and finding new places to explore. We love spending time with our two daughters, son-in-law and our 6'4" grandson who is only 14. Some near and some far.

I have spent most of my life here in San Jose. I attended San Jose State University, where I studied Child and Adolescent Development. I focused on elementary education and received a Master's in Education alongside completing the coursework for a teaching credential. I realized that I wanted something where I could work with children in a smaller setting as they grow, learn, and develop. I have worked with younger children in early childhood settings and have enjoyed the way young minds work so creatively and passionately. I am excited to get to know each child and family at The Willows Nursery School.
